About the Role

Toronto Cat Rescue is seeking a dedicated and organized Lead Pet Publicist to oversee our team of volunteer pet publicists. In this role, you’ll ensure our adoptable cats get online quickly and accurately, helping them find their forever homes faster.

As the Lead Pet Publicist, you’ll be the main point of contact for our posting team, managing quality control, troubleshooting issues, and keeping our adoption listings running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Team Support & Communication

  • Serve as primary contact for all pet publicists

  • Answer questions and provide guidance on posting procedures

  • Resolve discrepancies between foster submissions and the TCR List

  • Communicate with foster families when additional photos or information are needed

Process Management

  • Manage ‘Post Pending’ statuses and follow up on delayed posts

  • Handle special cases (e.g., special needs)

  • Coordinate bonded pair postings to ensure proper linking

  • Oversee video uploads to the pet publicist YouTube channel

Resource Management

  • Monitor the pet publicists email inbox

  • Maintain standardized bio messaging

  • Keep posting guidelines and training materials current

Required Skills

  • Strong attention to detail - You’ll catch discrepancies between submissions and records

  • Excellent written communication - You’ll guide volunteers and communicate with foster families

  • Organized and responsive - You’l manage multiple requests and keep the team on track

  • Problem-solving ability - You’ll troubleshoot issues and make judgment calls

  • Comfortable with technology - You’ll work with email, spreadsheets, Adopt-a-Pet platform, and photo editing

Time Commitment

  • Flexible schedule - Work on your own time

  • Estimated 5-10 hours per week depending on volume

  • Responsive communication - Check in regularly to support the team

What You’ll Need

  • Computer with internet access

  • Familiarity with Google Sheets/Excel

  • Basic photo editing skills (cropping, brightening)

  • Email management capability
