TCR receives daily calls and emails from the public. These can vary from media interview requests, requests for information, interest in volunteering, offering donations, etc. We are looking for individuals to join our General Inquiries team to check messages, forward to the appropriate party and respond back when necessary. Each volunteer is assigned a specific day of the week. Volume averages 4- 6 messages per shift.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Check email and voicemail messages at least 2 times per day (once in the late morning and once in the evening).
Return all incoming emails and calls from the public received during your shift.
Clarify information requested and respond or forward it to the correct party for follow-up, or by directing the caller to the correct area of our website for more information.
Qualifications & Expectations
Customer service experience
Compassionate, patient, pleasant and positive nature
Highly organized
Excellent phone skills, enjoys talking to people
Team player
Proficiency with Gmail and Google Docs
Able to troubleshoot problems quickly and professionally
Strong initiative and able to complete tasks with little supervision
Reliable
Minimum 6 month commitment
