Goal
To assist in assuring that Toronto Cat Rescue is able to have funds available to rescue cats and kittens in Toronto, Kitchener-Waterloo and whenever the need is greatest  

Help Us Make a Difference
As a member of the Fundraising Team, the goal is to ensure that clear, and compelling communication, marketing and fundraising appeals are developed to forward the goals and mission of Toronto Cat Rescue. Within the team we are recruiting for a number of specific roles: Fundraising Team Lead, Email Appeal Writer, Events Team Members, Grant Writer, Bowl-a-thon Team Members, Partnership Coordination and CanadaHelps Administration

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Help create and deploy an online newsletter and communication on a regular basis

  • Look for grant opportunities for Toronto Cat Rescue

  • Collaborate with other team members to launch and execute the annual TCR Bowl-a-thon, our signature event

  • Assist in looking for new and unique opportunities to raise funding (online campaigns, partnerships etc)

  • Manage the CanadaHelps (Donor CRM) database

  • Support local event opportunities like the annual Pet Expo or Meowfest

  • Work with the Executive Director on projects that may arise


Qualifications & Expectations

  • Must be 18 years or older

  • Self-motivated, well organized, detail oriented, and able to effectively work independently and within a team framework

  • Comfortable using Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets and Spreadsheets

  • A familiarity with Canada Helps, Mail Chimp and simple design is an asset but not required

  • Past experience with creating and running campaigns an asset

  • Have daily access to email  

  • Excellent verbal and written skills, including clear and effective communication with others (staff, public, volunteers) that is professional, respectful, positive and compassionate

  • Capable of balancing multiple priorities, with limited resources, in an often fast-paced environment

  • The ability to make rational decisions and be professional in an emotional environment/situation.

  • Able to take direction professionally and follow-through on assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner

  • Customer service or forward-facing role experience is an asset
